A current town leader with a future town leader...at last nights Mercy Housing Group meeting. I am so happy to see this. (My parents used to bring me to important town meetings too...and sometimes I got to speak) What I found quite disturbing is that this proposal is going to impact all the future generations of San Lorenzo with only a handful (literally, I could count on my hand) of the under 55 group in attendance last night. We had a packed house, yes, but where were the younger crowd? Maybe you didnt think it was that important---- so you are on notice- IT IS. If we are going to be making informed decisions, and voicing our opinions WHATEVER THOSE OPINIONS ARE, we need to at least SHOW UP.... Do you know why we had so many elders in attendance? Because they have learned from the history of this town, that unless you show up and be heard, big things happen without your input... and there is very little you can do after the fact.... Sometimes, if something is going to have this much of an impact on OUR FUTURE of a town, we need to bring the kids, and take the time to participate. It is only 1 hour. The things you discuss on Facebook are great. However, we will not be repeating your comments at the meetings, so dont rely on that. We have our own opinions and viewpoints. Each of us has a responsibility to speak on our own behalf...and on the behalf of our children.... because that is what this is about.... what the future of San Lorenzo is to be. Yes, its that important. Come to the next meeting. Be heard. Take a stand and express whatever viewpoint you have. This is your town. You dont have to be elected to be a town leader. You just have to show up. April 21, 6pm HOA building....put it on the calendar.
