A customer comment from the blog: Holly says: As someone job hunting, I think it just gets frustrating at times creating 15 different resumes and having to remember the name of each and every one of them. I know…that probably sounds whiney and selfish and lazy….but when you wait and wait….and wait to get a job, there are SOME days when I want to hand over a generic resume and say “look…I’m kick ass! Hire me!!” But I understand its not that simple….it just mentally wears one down. Perpetual Resume responds: It can be mentally exhausting Holly! You are sooo right! In fact, most people are mentally exhausted just trying to do ONE resume because it is hard to focus introspectively and brag appropriately about one’s accomplishments in such a way that will stop a recruiter whose primary job when they are looking at a stack of resumes is to throw yours away, and anyone else’s they deem unfit to explore further. That sounds harsh, but they are generally “weeding out” resumes as the first tactic. So, you don’t want 15 resumes, but you probably need two to three, and they need to be updated every six months at a minimum with new accomplishments and also with every job or position change. Then minor tweaks can be made for specific job postings. If you need help, feel free to contact [email protected]
