A cyclist has died in hospital this morning, five days after being involved in a crash in Neutral Bay. Just before 12.30pm (Monday 13 October 2014), officers were called to the corner of Ben Boyd Road and Grosvenor Road, following reports of a collision between a cyclist and a Honda sedan. Emergency services were called, and Ambulance Paramedics treated the 59-year-old man at the scene, before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition. The driver of the Honda suffered no injuries and was taken to Manly Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. No one else was injured during the incident. Earlier this morning (Saturday 18 October 2014), the cyclist died in hospital after his life support was switched off. Police from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner. Their investigations continue, and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to come forward and contact police.
