A damn coyote just came right up to our backdoor !! King, Kingston, and I were inside but heard the guineas going ballistic, so I looked out and there it was!!! I ran out clapping my hands and yelling. It took off but stopped and looked back several times as if considering to turn around and take me on! And he was BIG! Almost like a coyote-wolf hybrid, with an auburn red and brown coat. Besides sitting out back with a shotgun waiting for him to return, the animal services guy I talked to said GET A TRAP! Anyone know best place to pick up one (or a few)? Or another method of eliminating? And dont anyone say oh, but it could be a momma coyote with babies...!!! Because I am also a momma with babies of my own that are small and enjoy playing outside. And the safety and well-being of my children (as well as our many animals) far outweigh the well-being of a wild, potentially dangerous, disease carrying animal.
