A day-making moment. An elderly mechanic who once worked for the Maine Central Railway visited the store today in search of our lavender essential oil. You know what this is good for, he asked. Burns! Turns out he had used lavender oil whenever he rubbed up against a hot muffler or part. Never blistered. Never scarred. And Id only used a little bit at a time, maybe three or four times a day. I was so happy to hear someone other than a lavender farmer knowing this bit of folk medicine I almost hugged him.
