A decision has been made to postpone consideration of planning application reference 81446/RENEWAL/2013 from the 12th March 2014 planning committee meeting. Having viewed the Officer report, Committee members have requested a technical briefing on issues associated with the coal bed methane process. The application will now be considered at a later date. Planning permission (ref 74681/FULL/2010) had previously been granted in February 2010 to allow for the construction of a site for the exploration, production testing and extraction of coal bed methane, transmission of gas and the generation of electricity and other ancillary development on land adjacent to the M60 High Level Bridge in Urmston. The current application seeks to extend the time limit within which the previous planning application can be implemented by a further three years.
