A defiant Governor Rick Perry turned himself in to a Travis County courthouse late today, where he was fingerprinted and took this mug shot. Before he walked in, he was greeted by a cheering crowd of supporters chanting Perry, Perry, Perry! He told reporters, Im here today because I believe in the rule of law. He went on to say that his actions against Travis County DA Rosemary Lehmberg were legal and right and he said Id do it again. He called his indictment on coercion and official oppression charges a challenge to the constitutional system of checks and balances and said it was an attempt to strip away the power of the Governors office. He accused the DA of a political act that seeks to achieve at the courthouse what could not be done at the ballot box, and said we do not criminalize policy disagreements between the parties. So what do you think? is this about the law or pure politics?
