A depot that changed a family. MIlw Road Wausau, WI. A short ride on my sporty from Appleton to Merrill to visit my brother. Walleye fishing on the river. ;-) I stop and reflect this image. In 1975 I was looking at this building with a city scape image imposed behind it. I was a Sr. in high school in NJ. Twas in a Chamber of Commerce brochure. That was a ad for Employers Insurance of Wausau. My dad was selected to become President/CEO of that company. Which he did for some 17 years till retirement. So I move from a town 30 minutes from Manhattan to a county that was proud to have more cows than people. Proud of it. Not looking good folks. So, I say goodbye to EL and hellow to this funny orange and black color units. 350 series. What on earth was the Milwaukee Road. I lived on Franklin St. about 5 blocks up on snob hill. At 10th. High enough so I could hear the time freights blow coming in and out of town. Quick enough for a grab n go with camera. Which, leads to another interesting story...sometime.
