A developing country like ours with a very large population must recognize the problem of disparity of resource sharing right now and should work on it to develop adequate controlling measures on war footing. The effort should begin with formulation and strict enactment of principles for fixing minimum wage for our marginal workforce. The fact that our middle class or even lower middle class population can afford to employ domestic helps or drivers is a definite indicator that cheap labour, as we proudly call it, is nothing but a measure of exploitation. If we can engage labour force for our personal requirements at a level which even developed countries like USA can’t afford, not an iota of doubt can be raised that this disproportionate affluence must have resulted from deprivation at certain strata of society. This disparity needs to be eradicated by concentrating on holistic development and economic upliftment of not only the marginal workforce and BPL population but also that of the lower middle class layer. Along with these, systematic and extensive measures for coverage of quality education, healthcare, housing and entrepreneurship development should also be taken up for rationalizing the economic disparity ratio to bring in an effective overall change even at the lowest level of livelihood pattern and quality of life. Successful implementation of this concept may be instrumental to permanently eradicate multidimensional problems of our beloved motherland ranging from unemployment to corruption, policy paralysis to unorganized private sector, labourers unrest to low productivity, redtapeism to sporadic vision-less development programmes and so on.
