A dictionary definition of advice is guidance or recommendations offered with regard to prudent action.... seems fairly straightforward right? if you want to live life in a cautious and productive way, seek advice from those who have been on this earth a little longer so you avoid the mistakes that they made....right? Well.....advice often comes unwarranted, unwanted and uncalled for. Take for example a parent who feels the need to tell their child what to avoid so that they dont make certain choices... most times we do not listen. Simply because we have a strong belief that we are an exception to the rule and just because life has paned out a certain way for them will not mean that it will happen in that way for us( ego much?). fair enough...BUT... is anyone really ever an exception to the rules of life? With age my arrogance of life has been replaced with an appreciation of the views and words of the elders... their outlook is invaluable. Their words, golden.
