A discouraged will not commit suicide nor a demotivated. Only a depressed will. But why? A depressed person (be it OCD, bipolar, acute suicidal etc) suffers brain chemical secretion imbalances. So to tell (out of good intention) a depressed person as if it is his/her discouragement of not wanting to be this and that blaaaa blaaa blaaaa just show that we are ignorant. Would you blame a cancer, heart, kidney patient for getting the disease as though they have a choice? To help a depressed person is to listen more to them. If we start to talk more than listening, I suggest we better dont even think of helping. Also, do not think that book-type understanding would necessarily help the depressed. We will only shy them away. (You just have to trust me.)
