A discussion on Malviya ji on LSTV opened my eyes .Sharing for knowledge and information of FB friends.Prof.Salil Misra of Ambedkar University opened some unknown pages of Malviya jis life and contribution . According to him Malviyaji was a Hindu traditionalist not communalist .He was not founder of Hindu Mahasabha as it exists in almost all states he only brought state units under one umbrella of All India Hindu Mahasabhabut shunned it in 1937 to contest constituent assembly election as a Congressman .All his life he remained in Congress was having differences with Congress on issues like Cow protection separate electorate and music before mosque .He formed his own Congress Nationalist Party but merged it with parent party at the insistance of Rafi Ahmad Qidwai who was were dear to him inspite of age difference Rafi Sb was too junior in party and too young in age but both were having excellent relations.. Malviya ji played crucial role in bringing Congress and Muslim League on one platform and simultaneous plenary session of both parties held in Lucknow in 1916.The famous story of this session I have earlier read is that at Lunch break a Congress volunteer asked Pt Nehru Bhojan kar lijiyepat came the reply Ji nahin Bhojan ap kijiye main ja raha hun khana khane Muslim league ke ijlas mein(Bhojan means veg., Khana means non veg to Pt Nehru the term was also used by Bahugana ji as told me by his political secretary late Rahman Bhai) Another great friend and admirer of Malviya ji as told by Prof Salil Misra was Akbar Allahabadi the great Urdu poet who was too older to him but perhaps Traditionalism was the common factor between the two .Akbar Allahabadi was opposed to modern education specially English and was bitter critic of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan the founder of AMU.Professor Misra also added tomy knowledge about the famous couplet that Akbar Allahabadi wrote about Malviya ji Badha li shekh ne dadhi safed san ki si Magar woh baat kahan Malviya Madan jaisi First sher was not known to me second I remember asMagar woh baat kahan molvi Maddan jaisi Thank you Prof Misra for removing mine and thousand like mine misunderstanding and misconception about Malviyaji .He definitely deserves Bharat Ratan
