A fair warning for anybody renting houses in the area. We had a man(Chad Betts) and his Girlfriend(Destiny Hall) rent our house from Oct 15, 2013 to February 23, 2014. If you can call it that.. They were close to being 3 months behind on rent as of February the 28th and then he was trying to lie and say that he paid December when I have PROOF that he DIDNT. They were NEVER on time with the rent, a week late or more. Theyd say they were gonna pay and never would. Said he would pay $100 a week in January. That only lasted for 2 weeks. On the 25th of January he called us at midnight freaking out cause his mom caught some dude in the house while his girlfriend was home supposedly alseep. Had everybody out looking for this dude. Turns out it was her ex bf she had over there while he was in tx in truck driving school. We have kids we cant be running around looking for the guy your girlfriend is screwing while youre away.. We were told Rent a center was looking for him also bc he did some damage to some stuff like 3,000 or so. Aarons was looking for him too cause he is cause he hadnt been paying on the stuff they have rented from them. The light bill was past due. It was in their name not ours tho. So on Sunday (2/23/14) when they failed to respond to us all day saturday(2/22/14) and half the day sunday(5 text messages total). We went up there and changed to locks. I text them and told the when they can pay back due rent and this months rent we will unlock the door. Other wise they need to pay whats past due and we will let them get their crap and get out. It illegal to lock it, I know. But it was easier then serving an eviction notice to people who were even there. I told them I didnt mind giving them any of their babys stuff, medication or whatever. But they would not step ONE foot in that house unless they take me to court or pay what they owe and I told them that. He called bobby dickerson(PO in Ben. Co.) and tried to threaten to have me ARRESTED!! Of course being as I have common sense I know thats not something I could be arrested for. I have text messages where he says all thru JAN that he doesnt have the money to pay DEC then he was trying to claim he paid it but miraculously doesnt have a receipt for it.... I have the receipts from when he paid. So I KNOW when he paid and My MIL gave him a receipt every time!! And in one message he says he HAS the receipts then in another says he doesnt! Its like hes thinks were stupid, right? No Im not stupid! Pitching a hissy fit and name calling. Hes obviously very mature. They sold a trampoline(our kids) that they were told was to be left alone. Then he said he pay us the money for it. Of course Im sure its easy to guess by now that was a lie. Tried to sell a wall mount bracket for a 37in tv that was in the house for $60. We bought it at Bargain Hunt for $12... Luckily nobody was interested. They broke the lock on the house and removed their stuff. Thats fine. We fixed the lock. I was tempted to file a police report for breaking and entering. But I wont go that far. I am done with it. We were going to let them get their stuff when my husband came back from California. Just to make sure nothing else was stolen. Surprise, surprise there was. We were ready to move back in and get the house remodeled. Which is what well start doing now. So if you are even the least bit tempted to rent a house to him Id be sure all appliances were accounted for before they moved out and Id make sure to get a hefty deposit. Which we waived for him in the agreement that they fix a window that was broken in the house. If you are sensing a trend here the you can guess that never happened. He just lies about EVERYTHING. I have the text messages proving all of this if anyone would like to see them. I would be happy to share them with you!
