A fans asks- How can I get my mother in law to understand my sons quirks arent just quirks and she cant just push him and force him to touch/eat/be around things he cant handle. I.e. One of my sons is terrified of water on his face, what does she do? Takes a spray bottle and sprays his face repeatedly until he finally broke down crying and I walked into the room to see what she was doing!! She does things like this all the time and my sons absolutely hate being around her because of it. They have CP and SPD. Its such a big deal if they tolerate something without a panic attack but every time I say something to her she just brushes me off and says they need to grow out of it.
