A father-in-law who has been a real father to me. A strong man who is a mentor and guide to me not just in my political life but in personal life too, Badal Sahab continues to inspire me everyday. He is the one who always helps me in understanding not only people of my constituency but also people around me including how to bring up my children and family. He is constantly endeavouring to bind together not just the family but the whole of Punjab. Personally, I can tell you that all my Nanhi Chhan drive has been inspired by his thoughts on gender equality. Many times, he makes me feel that my opinion and my status in the house is more important to him than even Sukhbirs. I have never been a daughter in law to him. I am always as dear as his own daughter. Giving more and doing more for daughters has been his mission which often takes shape in Free Education for Girls scheme, Cycles and free books for girls and many more such schemes that he has launched for girl child.
