A favor I would like to give to a friend being the talk of the town for something he did that is not tolerable. He already deactivated his facebook account and this is what he wanted to tell all concern. Good day to all concerned. First of all, my apologies for the misunderstanding my actions have caused. I would like to take this opportunity to give you my side of the matter. I admit to posting untrue statements in my FB account, however, my intention in doing so was not to scam any person, least of all, you - my friend and kababayans. The truth is, I was disheartened when i read and heard comments and reposrts that many are having second thoughts on giving help to the typhoon victims because of the lawlessness that transpired in Leyte in the aftermath of the storm. They were saying that the people of Leyte do not deserve the help in view of their actions. That was why i thought that by posting fictitious names as having made considerable donations, i could show people that it was still best to give donations and volunteer as many others are doing. I wanted to encourage, not deceive. My Intention was pure, however, looking back now, I admit that it was poorly and badly executed. I admit that i could have thought of other ways to rally people to participate in the relief efforts. The money that was given though me, i did not use for myself. I donated it to the victims thru our OMBEA, our employee association. I hope that you will all find it in your hearts to believe me. You have known me for a long time and please know that I am not that kind of person. Remember the John you know and know that I would never do anything to you that is detrimental to our friendship and tarnish our samahan. If my intention was indeed to scam, I would never have used my personal account for that. By that alone, i hope that you will believe my statements. I regret my actions have caused misunderstanding between us. For that, I am heart-broken and deeply saddened. Again, my sincerest apologies. With this, I hope that we can all devote our time to the immediate task at hand and help out our friends and families in rebuilding.
