A few advisories are in effect for the U.P. First a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect for Alger, Baraga, Chippewa, Delta, Dickinson, Iron, Luce, Mackinaw, Marquette, Menominee, and Schoolcraft counties until 7 PM. Visibility in spots maybe down to a quarter mile or less through the early evening. Widespread rain will moving in tonight and it could be moderate to heavy at times... especially for areas east or Marquette and Escanaba. Late tonight, rain will mix with and change to snow in the western U.P. and then mix with and change to snow for the rest of the U.P. on Monday morning and early afternoon. A Lake Effect Snow Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Ontonagon counties from 7 AM Monday to 7 AM Tuesday. Houghton and Keweenaw counties from 7 AM Monday to 7 PM Tuesday. Baraga and Marquette counties from 1PM Monday to 1 PM Tuesday. Alger, Luce and Northern Schoolcraft counties from 4 PM Monday to 4 PM Tuesday. Possible totals of 4 to 8 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts. Strong winds up to 50 MPH... especially along the Lake Superior shoreline and Keweenaw Peninsula will create blowing and drifting snow and possible white out conditions. These strong winds will create large waves possibly up to 18 feet on Lake Superior. A Lakeshore Flood Advisory is in effect for the for Alger, Houghton, Keweenaw, Luce and Marquette counties along the Lake Superior shoreline. Some beach erosion and coastal flooding is possible.
