A few community notices. Firstly there have been some burglarys and arson attempts in Onslow Western recently. Re the arsons, please try not to leave rubbish and recycling lying around, in view or on the streets. It becomes a target! There has been cars broken into in the Wilton Wadestown Northland area. Please keep valuables out of view, and cars locked and secure properly. Our Community Policeman Hamish Knight is onto things, and I have been totally impressed with his proactivity. If you have a problem please ensure you do not place yourself in harms way. For urgent concerns please never hesitate to ring 111. Finally on a health note our community lost a very good person almost two years ago. Kate McIlroy was the type of person every community respects and loves. She was the fabric of what a great community is all about. Kate passed away very suddenly as the result of influenza. I had my flu jab this week, and would urge others to do so as well. If in doubt please contact your doctor. Finally we have a great raft of community services in our area, ranging from the libraries, the community centres, The Karori Pool and recreational centres. They are there to use. We have great staff who largely do a fantastic job servicing our area. If you have any concerns or feedback re our community facilities please dont hesitate to contact me
