A few days ago I had a huge largemouth jump in to the air and shake off my hook, it jumped about two feet, it was spectacular. A flash of gold. I am sure it is one of the ones I have caught in the past and it had smartened up to hook... now it has become a bit of Moby Dick to me... Today Tompkins was incredible, I had a great conversation with Phil the neighborhood historian... I have learned so much speaking to the old timers. I often look at life as this amazing adventure... I might go to Bethel, Maine instead of Harpers Ferry as everything in Harpers Ferry is closed. I think that if I get next week I will still get spectacular leaves. I really want to learn to catch trout... ah another challenge. Today someone came up to me and said " you are the guy who fishes all the time? It was so nice to hear that instead of how are things in Coney Island, I have not worked there in years. Ah the guy who fishes all the time, who writes poems all the times and still reads hundreds of pages a week, yep that sounds good, I like it.
