A few days ago we posted a screenshot of one of the recent scans weve done. Weve been playing around with an evalution (hense the watermark) plug-in for producing walkthroughs of the RAW point clouds that we produce. This data can be used and interrogated as is, or further refined and rendered to use in architectural and engineering software as a 3d base plan. This clip is a pretty good visialisation of the detail we are able to capture with our laser scanner, all of which is accurate to within several millimeters. Being RAW data you can still see all the scan locations, and the checkerboards and spheres used to register (merge) each scan. The checkerboards have also been co-ordinated with a reflectorless total station.
