A few excerpts by Max Lucado. Just some thoughts to ponder this week as we focus in on what Jesus did for us this Easter: Here Joseph had taught him how to grip a hammer. And on this work bench he had built his first chair. I wonder what Jesus thought as he took one last look around the room...I wonder if he hesitated. I wonder if his heart was torn. I wonder if he rolled a nail between his thumb and fingers, anticipating the pain. Bloodstained royalty. A God with tears. A creator with a heart. God became earths mockery to save his children. No price is too high for a parent to pay to redeem his child. No energy is too great. No effort too demanding. A parent will go to any length to find his or her own. So will God. Had Jesus been forced to nail himself to the cross, he would have done it. For it was not the soldiers who killed him, nor the screams of the mob: It was his devotion to us. The cross, the zenith of history. All of the past pointed to it and all of the future would depend on it Mark it down. Gods greatest creation is not the flung stars or the gorged canyons, its his eternal plan to reach his children.
