A few months ago I lost a friend, so I figured since today would have been his 33rd birthday (Dec. 15) I should share a short song I wrote for him. Jorge was a very rare person that I was fortunate to know for over 10 years. Ive had a lot of people come and go in my life who straight up ended friendship over trivial things like me not partaking in their band or business affairs anymore, a disagreement or they went another path personally or spiritually. The reasons are endless and equally frail. Im not perfect, but Jorge never cared about that and it never stopped him from calling or texting me every couple weeks to see how the hell I was doing and vice versa. He really loved people even if they couldnt do something directly for him in return and was a very selfless guy, which is a scarce trait in humans. It is rough not hearing his voice anymore. I always valued his opinions and outlooks on life because of how great his character was and his gracious and unconditional acceptance of others. I will also miss him begging me to go up to girls and do the pec dance all the time. Hahaha. It seemed he had such a desire to do stand-up comedy but he was already too funny and charming naturally to have to even try. Never a dull moment. R.I.P. buddy.
