A few months ago I was talking with my job service provider (the agency that helps you look for work) And tried to explain what being transgender was and the journey I had been through. I said being transgender means that I am the most determined person that they will ever employ. I have in the time its taken me to go through the physical transition from M to F shown that I am capable of achieving anything, that I am committed and unwavering in my pursuit of success and wholeness. He said it was too bad that I couldnt put that down in my resume. A short time after that conversation I was applying for a job at an import export company. On the e-form they asked what was my greatest achievement to date. I recounted my journey as a trans-female as my greatest achievement to date. I didnt get the job but I did let them know what I considered was my greatest achievement. I still think of this journey of transition is my greatest achievement that I have done for myself and although I am still out of work I have at last been able to find wholeness and happiness. Though, more than being happy I am learning to be comfortable with who I am. I am living my life as me... :)
