A few months ago we bought about an acre and a half of woods in front of our house to ward off encroaching development. Weve used it as our own for 20 years anyway, as the previous property owners live out of state. Now that we own it I want to clean it up a little......not a lot, just cull out some dead and some brush. What better way to dispose of such debris than to burn it? So I retrieved some stone (rocks really) that had once been part of a long abandoned flower bed and placed them in a circle of sorts. VIOLA! Instant fire ring. Surrounded it with some good ol #57 gravel salvaged and stockpiled from my neighbors addition to his house then dug the center just a fudge deeper. Done. Total time: About 6 hours. Total cost: $0.00. It aint perfect or fancy; but its good enough to sit around, drink a beer and tell a lie. So all you beer drinkin liars I know consider yourself notified. Theres just something about a fire, ya know?
