A few months back, I approached Natalie wondering if she thought we could partner on a project. Ive been an on and off foster mom (when Im not traveling) for about two years with you guys. Helping dogs is one of my passions. The other is helping veterans. I work for a non-profit called Team Red, White & Blue and we work to help veterans integrate back into the community after leaving the service, especially if theyve served in combat. We do this primarily through physical and social activity. Aside from our mission, I believe in the therapeutic qualities of dogs - whether they are trained service dogs or not. Every Saturday, a group of us meet at Memorial Park to run. We can get anywhere from 15 - 20 folks at a time. What if we scheduled a day when foster parents bring their fosters to the park and we match them up with a veteran and they take a walk? This can be done with enough time left to transport the dogs back to the AC. Multiple benefits - we will advertise K-9 Angels and get you more visibility. Our vets and the dogs get some exercise before a full day at the AC. We encourage everyone to log the walk on Walk For a Dog to raise money. And, we maybe get a few vets who are looking for dogs to fall in love with a dog and become fosters or furever owners... Thoughts?
