A few months before this message was broadcast, I was coming around to the conclusion that I had found the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with; the person who I wanted to be the Mother of my children. I was feeling very awkward and anxious about what to do next. So I asked the one person who had always been there for me and who was always on my side, for help. My Mom had seen me thru skinned knees, bruised egos, runny noses, broken hearts and broken bones. She was the educated and the education parent (meaning no matter what, I WAS going to get one). She had opened my eyes, my heart and my mind to the world of possibilities that lay before me. Ill never forget what she said when I sheepishly asked her if she could help me pick out a ring for Susan Tapscott Kersey. She asked me how long Susan and I had been just friends before we went on our first date. I told her we were friends for about a year. She then said I knew she was the one since the summer of your freshman year. That was a full six months before we went on our first date and a year and a half before I actually had come to that conclusion.
