A few nights ago, I went to Chow Kit to look for one of NFNs - TopicsExpress

A few nights ago, I went to Chow Kit to look for one of NFNs regular street clients whose backpack I noticed has been looking worse for wear each week. When I handed a new backpack to him, many around him also started asking for one as theirs have also started to deteriorate. The guys, some of them homeless and sleep on the sidewalks, use these backpacks extensively to carry their worldly possessions and as pillows at night. So wed like to ask if you have any BACKPACKS to donate to our street clients (new, preloved or unused) and to include 750ml or bigger WATER BOTTLE (new, preloved or unused) in the bags for them. Additionally, you can include these items in the backpacks just to provide them some form of comfort at night. These are optional items which you can buy for RM5 each at Daiso or similar shops: - inflatable neck pillow - space blanket, fleece blanket or yoga mats (to be used as a layer between them and the concrete floor, an alternative to flattened boxes). We intend to give out to most of our street clients (approximately 350-400 of them now) but if we cant get enough, these items will only be given to the men (around 250-300) Wed like to give these on 18 SEPTEMBER in conjunction with Malaysia Day, so that our street clients know they are not forgotten in celebrating wonderful Malaysia and Malaysians. Please PM any of the NFN team for drop off / pick ups (depending on location). Deadline for the bags is noon 18 September. Thank you for your support.
