A few observations: part of this jump is indeed attributable to foreign investors. A phenomenon that started in 2009 and primarily centered around high-end real estate. The high figure seems to include any hidden alternative financing since the comparison is made between mortgage financed and non-mortgage, assumed cash. Sellers have been very willing to offer owner-financing but nobody knows what percentage such would represent. In all, I take the graph with a grain of salt.
