A few of my Facebook friends may remember this. On April 5, 1971 - TopicsExpress

A few of my Facebook friends may remember this. On April 5, 1971 (43 years ago), I was riding on the back of a small Honda motorcycle in St. Petersburg (Florida) at about 8 p.m. with my friend Bobby Marr. We were both 15. We were hit by a car. A passing hearse (funeral parlor station wagon for transporting coffins) was nearby, and those guys scooped up my crushed body and rushed me to St. Petersburg General Hospital. My heart stopped for some amount of time. I was in a coma for 10 days and had a long list of operations and procedures. Doctors would not say I was going to live, or if I did that I would be able to function normally. Since then, I know I stopped breathing for some number of minutes at least once and another time I went into anaphylactic shock. On those occasions, hospital staff were able to revive me. Each of these stories can be much longer, because while some few friends may remember me being absent from Northeast High School for the remainder of the second semester of 1971 (however, I made up the credits and graduated with the Class of 1974), almost everyone knows I do write long on occasion. So, I have established that I have been dead as exhibited by not breathing, and my heart having stopped (restarted with a syringe into it after electric shocks did not work). So I was on the brink at least twice and maybe more often. Perhaps my little toe was in Heaven enough for me to know that my faith is well-placed. So, for my pals who are of a like-mindedness in that regard, I say -- as I quote Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (KJV) -- For everyone else, I pray you have fun today too.
