A few of you have requested I talk about diet and how Ive managed to finally kick start my metabolism again and shed some weight. Its a process thats going nice and slow for me. Im happy about this because it is a lifestyle change for me, not just a fad. Also I get to really enjoy life in the meantime. I am following the 5:2 fasting diet which was created by Michael Mosley. I had heard about this WOE (way of eating) from a number of people who looked fantastic, but was very skeptical about it, until I got the book and started to realise the fantastic health benefits this WOE has. So I joined a FB group 5:2 fasting and after discovering this fantastic support group I gave it a go. Basically for 2 days out of 7 you will only eat 500 cals. The other 5 you will eat approx 2000. I dont want to go into too much detail as I believe you need to read the book before you start. So on my fast days usually a Tuesday and Thursday I dont eat anything for breakfast or lunch I drink herbal tea all day. I will then have a 500 cal meal for dinner, usually meat and veg. You will be amazed at how quickly a hunger pang passes especially after having a cup of something hot, and no I dont get weak at all, if anything I feel more energised. On non fast days I dont count as this is the beauty of it, but I wouldnt binge everyday, only weekends really. This WOE is not for everyone but is definitely working for me. It has taught me to only eat when hungry and I believe this is playing a big part in my weight loss. Im feeling good too not as sluggish or tired. I feel my bubbly self again, although there may be other reasons for that ;-) sorry for the long post but I am currently working on a blog page and I will blog on there instead but you will be able to link into that from here.
