A few people have asked if my dad has found one yet...LOL. Well, YES he has! He seems pretty proud of his seasonal humongous fungus. This year the Sheeps Head weighed so much he did NOT bring it into the store in a gunny sack. He brought it in a box. It has become a fall tradition for my dad to show off his big mushroom. I will not make jokes about that statement. I will leave it to you! But seriously I am impressed and proud of him. At 81 he can find, harvest and CARRY OUT OF THE WOODS that heavy piece of nature! He told me that he watched it grow from baseball size up to the size it is now, and that he harvested it because he was worried someone else might get it. These puppies make excellent meals fried or in gravy on steaks! I just noticed that it is about a third as big as he is!!
