A few people on my time line worried that Independence will mean eternal Tory governments south of the border. Firstly, Im not sure the figures add up; Secondly, this seems a remarkably selfish approach to politics. More importantly though, this is a shockingly cynical attitude to how political change takes place. The idea that the ONLY hope English people have to get rid of Tory governments is the votes north of the border, is really depressing. It indicates a complete lack of belief in motivating people through anything else. And Ill reiterate something I said elsewhere, the biggest barrier to a Labour government south of the border is the pro-privatisation, pro-war, racist, anti-working class policies of Labour. No wonder people dont vote for them. (Martin Empsoms status that will agree with)
