A few photo highlights from the January 17th field trip to Boston and points south led by Al Richards. Our first Stop was to Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston for the Black-backed Woodpecker…we waited for one hour in 10 degree weather with no luck. From there we headed to the South Shore for a King Eider and Lark Sparrow, both successful sightings. We ended the Day in Marion at the Evergreen Cemetery for the Townsend ’s Solitaire, struck out there too, not a good day for birding Cemetery’s. . Overall a very pleasant day, but cold with a nice group of birder’s. Photos-Lark Sparrow, Hooded Merganser & White-winged Scoter
