Connecticut’s problem, and its municipalities’ problem, is not revenue; it’s the spending. Naugatuck voters understood that well enough to vote no, and they were angered enough about borough officials’ intended spending excesses that they turned out in sufficient numbers to make the outcome count. and Those who attend tonights meeting should beware the likely next step in the spenders tactical approach: the cancel-the-football-season ploy. Spenders in government often resort to slashing programs parents and other residents value the most, while protecting jobs and programs the public really doesnt care about.
