A few random thoughts on my trip to London and Paris. Even though - TopicsExpress

A few random thoughts on my trip to London and Paris. Even though Im a gun owner Ill never get used to the open carry of fully automatic assault rifles by cops in London and Paris. Yes I know the myth that police in England dont carry guns. In just a couple of blocks of walking Kensington High Street I saw 3 with full auto assault rifles. And in Paris I saw soldiers walking around with the same. Over here we would never allow that. On the more or less same subject. All day long in Hampton I heard gunfire. A deer cull right in the middle of the towns park. Something else that would never be allowed over here. PETA would be in an tizzy. Why does half of London drive SUVs? Why do American kids scream and cry constantly and their European conterparts stay mostly quiet and well behaved? Is Paris the birthplace of graffiti? Ive never been tackled by a hooker on Colfax but it has happened in London. Americans. Youre in London. Dont wear cargo shorts and a dirty Oakland Raiders t-shirt out to dinner. And take your hat off in a restaurant. Wearing it with the bill facing forward does not denote formal dining. Thank God the Brits write Look Left and Look Right at their street crossings. Id be dead now without the reminder. A restaurant called Crazy Homies would never be allowed to open over here. Dirty Duck is a great name for a beer. I didnt think it was possible to have a riot in a restroom but I got to see one in Paris. When will America have a public transit system like you see in Europe? Never saw any reason to drive. Only in London can you hear a violinist perform Pascabels Canon in a subway station. Took a walk on Saville Row. The earth has now tilted on its axis. Im already lusting for another Turkish Lamb Wrap from Notting Hill Grill. Have to get back!
