A few sprinkles today, a few sprinkles yesterday and some actual rain last night (but a long way from being a downpour). The dogs just think it is wonderful. Watching little Allviss playing with Drago this morning and I realize, hes not so little any more. Hes getting to be a big boy! They are nearly the same size now ... I had to laugh at the 2 of them --- Deborah threw one of the nice big balls that my friend Brad brought over a few months ago. Both of them harried off right after it .. Drago was faster, so All thought it was a good thing just to chase Drago ... a very cute pair. They were having so much fun! We can all learn from our dogs ... if things arent going exactly the way wed planned, change the game and have fun anyway! Sort of like the old story: you cant do that because you are a girl. Really, really, really? Says who?? Never did get a satisfactory answer to that one so I just continued on my merry way. Worked out pretty well for me. Sure, there were jobs where I wasnt paid as much as the guys, for a while. Then, I ended up getting their jobs ... and eventually, my pay caught up. Now that Im older, and have been happily self employed for the past 30+ plus years, I realize that all that experience worked well for me. Sure, I worked longer and harder, but became more talented and determined than anyone who had things just handed out to them. Sure, I can change the oil in my car, but it is much easier to pay somebody else to do it. I helped my dad rebuild a Caterpillar years ago and it was fascinating, but I dont want to be a mechanic. My love was reading, writing and talking! So, for the past 28 years, Ive been making a living writing ... nothing earth shattering, but definitely productive! Ive always loved animals and finally, Ive been able to combine my love of animals with working at home .... no, I dont write about dogs, but I have a nice boarding kennel and write to support all of it. Go with the flow, decide what you love and let it come to you. It always does, maybe not right this second, but it will happen. So, am I grateful today? Of course! Grateful that once again, I woke up. Grateful, that once again, the day started out well. Grateful, that once again, Im feeling better and all All/War wounds are healing nicely. (note to self: that bandaid you put on the knee scruff stopped the bleeding, but it didnt scab over quite as nicely as the ones you left exposed to the air, dumbass!), the bruises are starting to fade and life continues! Grateful, thankful and appreciative for all the good things that occur each day, for being able to look out at my little domain and see happy dogs, happy people and roses that are blooming like crazy!! Lifes not perfect, but is sure is a swell adventure!
