A few tag ends to the visit to Scotland...and a couple of mysteries: First, in spite of our best efforts, we never found an authentic fish & chips shop. They were there all right, but every one was closed or shut down for renovations when we came by. In fact, more often than not, restaurants in smaller places were seldom open at lunch. Secondly, its amazing how Scots (and Italians) seem to get by with smaller refrigerators. I figure that its because we need space for all those sauces (BBQ and otherwise). Thirdly, it was very odd that at night, we saw so few homes with lights on...so either power is very dear, or, in fact, most Scots are vampires...(?). But perhaps the vampire theory or any other sinister explanation doesnt add up...because when we went to buy some lamb for Ana to cook, everything we could find was from...wait for it....New Zealand! We figure its because every one of the thousands (millions?) of sheep and lamb in Scotland has been given a name and are like family. They are, after all, very cute.... Finally, we need help in figuring out what these two pictures are all about... We have left for home perhaps two or three days before we wished we had. Perfect timing for the best memories ;o)
