A few things Ive learned this week working for Kenneth. 1) we make one hell of a team at home and at work. 2) I am in the right profession as a UPS driver working by myself not having to listen to the same people all day long. 3) its freaking hot. With Kenneth I cant wear my brown shorts or any shorts for that matter and I have to wear that harness. (Still prefer it over cold) 4) when he comes home and says it was a hot day Ive always told him I know Im out in it all day too. Well let me tell you, its a totally different kinda hot up there. 5) my husband bragging on me to all those guys makes me feel amazing (even though I dont deserve it and Im really not that great at what I was doing) 6) riding to and from work with him is fun we may not say much to each other but its just the time spent together. 7) he gives me the same hell as he gives those guys if not worse. I didnt want them to think he was doing me a favor cause I was his wife or that I was getting special treatment. 8) Ive gotten better with ladders 9) in the morning when the dew is still on the decking its slippery. It takes a little while for me to get my deck legs. 10) walking up and down the deck a few times a day works your calves 11) I have a new respect for what he does and can say this. If you work in almost any type of air conditioned building an ironworker like my husband more than likely built the frame of the building, laid the deck on the roof, made the welds in the heat of the summer so you could work comfortably. So when you start thinking how bad you day is or how much you hate your job or how hot it is when you walk from your car to the office and back remember the men and occasional women that built it. 12) I had SO MUCH FUN!! P.S. Any of my teacher friends that do or may work at Calcedeaver Elementary I screwed a few screws there. I personally think its kinda cool to say I had a small hand in building something. Very small but still.
