A few weeks ago, my friend George posted something on his timeline about Glen Campbell. It ended up being a great thread on Campbell and others in the country realm who played a huge part in defining the genre and bridging the gap between country, pop, and rock n roll. Weve known for a while that Campbell has Alzheimers Disease. Ive known a few people who have it, but have been lucky that my family has, thus far, been untouched by it. If you ask me, this is the scariest and most evil disease one could be faced with. It steals your memories, lifes loves, and your mind. A while back, Glenns family announced that he was going to be placed under 24 hour care because his disease had progressed so far. Last week, they released what will ultimately be the last Glen Campbell record. Have some Kleenex handy when you listen to this. And to Mr. Campbell and his family - its okay, because we ARE going to miss you.
