A few weeks back, we had been passionately discussing the unfortunate tragedy that took place in Peshawar ... thanks to Media indulgences, this discussion remained active and alive for a considerable period of time. One of our very active participant in the deliberations (I personally got involved as a passing by!) was Shri Naveen Tripathi. Then, on December 23rd, right in our own land, another unfortunate incidence took place in Assam ... massacre of 78+ innocent men, women and children by Bodo activists which hardly got any attention, compared to Peshawar incidence. Consequently, most of our FB community remained unaware of this tragedy in our own house ... Chirag Talley Andhera! Naveen who, as soon as he learned about this incident, brought it to my attention and asked a very legitimate question: where is all the sympathy, compassion and the lighting of candles for the unfortunate souls lost in Assam?!? At that point, I, along with Naveen and Tanu Thadani made my submission on DEC 30th and we were hoping for a large number of our FB fraternity to open up their Hearts and Minds and share with every one their feelings about this tragedy. (I had included a description indicating the details of the incidence based on Zee DNA) I am very, very disappointed to report, that other than a single tick of approval no one in the FB community has cared to share their views or initiate any discussions!!! Are we to conclude, that we - like the Media apathy - do not give this matter any importance or, is it, that we got so carried away in the Peshawar incidence, that we have exhausted our debating faculties and our capacity for compassion and condolences that we have completely ignored the Assam incidence??????? Since I joined the FB community (about 3 months ago), I was impressed with the independence and diversity of views nurtured and freely expressed by The FB Surfers, who did not hesitate to join and passionately get involved in any issues of human importance. It is my humble submission - and a re-invitation - to every one who cares to please open-up your Hearts and lets hear ... hear from every one! Need I say, any more! Lachman p.s. The views expressed on the social media are receiving increasingly more and more importance, particularly by our new Government!
