A few words about...Le Grand Bleu. (Or The Big Blue if you saw it in non-french speaking territories). I used scenes from this 1988 Luc Besson film for my video of Into The Blue. Someone commented: cute video, but has nothing to do with the song. So let me explain :) Apart from the fact the Le Grand Bleu is from 1988 - the same year Kylies debut album was released - there is also the obvious symmetry between the titles. But for me, the similarity goes deeper. The themes I tried to get accross with the video are determination, living fearlessly, taking the plunge (literally in the film) and freedom. And while I was doing my remix, I kept seeing the amazing images from this film in my head. The stunning cinematography won the films director of photography, Carlo Varini, a César that year, the equivalent of the Oscars. So when I started watching the DVD again, it became crystal clear to me that this HAD to be the video for my mix.
