A few years ago Duran Duran played a benefit show in Las Vegas for the Andre Agassi charter school. It was out of cycle for Duran so I TMd the night. The bill saw an eclectic gathering of artists with Barbra Streisand, Glenn Fry and Usher joining DD as musical guests and George Lopez and Robin Williams the comedic talent. Our dressing room was at the end of a long corridor with Robin Williams occupying the room next door. We were all thrilled by this and moreso when on answering a knock at the door I was greeted with Robin Williams who told me he was lonely and bored and asked if he could join us. I looked behind me at a nodding Duran Duran beckoning Robin in where he proceeded to entertain us with jokes and stories until we were called for our set. He was a lovely man, incredibly friendly and took pride in introducing us all to his daughter that night. It is with her my thoughts are now and the rest of his family on hearing the dreadful news. RIP Robin Williams, you made me laugh and for that I thank you.
