A few years ago, I decided to discover some of the British sea shore, that unique ‘no’man’s land’ constantly changing canvas which is neither land neither sea, hoping it would provide me with inspiration, and material to illustrate my own perception of life and its inescapable conclusion, humanity and it’s intemporal preoccupations as well as my place within both. I’ve since produced 6 series, mostly in the form of polyptychs (5/6 pieces) The first, a six pieces polyptych called “Beach Art’ depicts the inescapable cycle of the ephemeral. The second, a five pieces polyptych, inpired by a poem of K. Gibran explored the theme of death. The third, a 6 pieces polyptych also inspired by a K. Gibran explores the theme of fertility. This latest exhibition made of a six pieces polyptych called ‘L’homme et la mer’ which takes its title from a famous poem by Charles Baudelaire explores men’s inner turmoil, and 2 series of four pieces inspired by a poem of K. Gibran loosely connected with the ‘interdependence’ between ‘Joy and Sorrow’.
