A few years ago I thought itd be funny to get in touch with the Westboro Baptist Church and try and get them to protest the re-opening of the Georgia Theatre, just to see if theyd take the bait. I always thought Fred Phelps was like the ultimate bad-guy wrestler who just happened to be some ding-dong preacher in Kansas and I admired his total Kaufman-esque commitment to the character he created for himself. he actually declared the phrase CANADA IS A FILTHY COUNTRY RUN BY FAGS which is so absurd that when I first stumbled across the video on the WBC site I laughed so hard I was practically heaving blood.
