A few years ago, at a con in Detroit, I had the great fortune of meeting Howard the Duck scribe Steve Gerber. He was seated next to some 90s era over-hyped superstar with a line around the block, and Mr. Gerbers line was non-existent. I hustled back into the show-room, and bought 2 copies of Howard #1--a book that was on my brothers collection bucket list. I asked Steve to sign my books, and--after he realized that I knew who he was--I was invited to join him at the table for a visit. We spent an hour or so talking comics and he made a really nice autograph that I sent to my brother for his birthday. It was probably the most fun I ever had in artist alley. Whos the coolest fan-fulfillment person you ever met?
