A filament eruption associated with a Type II radio emission took - TopicsExpress

A filament eruption associated with a Type II radio emission took place this evening to the south of region 2030. Attached video by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captures the eruption which appears to be directed to the west and away from Earth. This is confirmed by viewing the latest LASCO coronagraph imagery where a faint CME is now visible. Stay tuned to solarham for the latest updates. ALERT: Type II Radio Emission Begin Time: 2014 Apr 10 0010 UTC Estimated Velocity: 1109 km/s Description: Type II emissions occur in association with eruptions on the sun and typically indicate a coronal mass ejection is associated with a flare event.
