A film showed Prophet Moosaa (Moses), alaihiSSALAAM, talking with Allaah (God). No, no one appeared as God, only a voice did. Yes, a mortal acted God with his voice! No zealot torched a thing, less a soul. Why? yIn another film, a lesser mortal acted as Eesaa (Jesus), alaihiSSALAAM. Jesus, by the way, is deified by over two billion people the world over. That film nailed Jesus, peace be upon him. The film showed the horrifying details of Jesus believed crucifixion, an incident vehemently refuted by Muslims. No eyebrow blinked! Why? There is a Guru Mahraj on a highway in Nigeria claiming divinity. I believe such actors playing God abound in almost every clime. Some have been engaged in a debate but none torched or butchered. Why? Why is it only when Rasool (The Prophet Muhammad), alaihiSSalaam, is misrepresented that streets bleed, leaving sorrow, tears and blood (apologies abami eda) in homes? Have the other Prophets, peace be upon them all, and Allaah, the most High, not been misrepresented in those instances? No sane Muslim would make a distinction between Rasool and the other Prophets when Allaah teaches us to say: ...we make no distinction between any of His Messengers... They are all revered Messengers of Allaah, deserving our respect. Moosaa wasnt a Jew nor Jesus a Christian. At least not to Muslims. If, however, some ignorant Muslims assume they are, is God who has been represented by a voice theirs alone? Fight every person who starts a movement or movie you consider sacrilegious let us see how it goes. Burn every house carrying Jesus image. Prosecute all atheists who ridicule Allaah. Or is it execute! Mockery of Prophets and God Himself arent new, our reactions are. The Quraan says the Jews say: Allaahs hands are folded (a euphemism? for niggardliness). No war was waged against them over that. Or was there? Besides, penalties arent decided and carried out by the mob in Islaam. Only leadership has that prerogative. None else. .
