A find from my friend Tom Glendenning. Some really interesting - TopicsExpress

A find from my friend Tom Glendenning. Some really interesting pictures from a ghastly war, now marked by its centennial. Ghastly because it was the first instance of massive mechanized warfare, coupled with a leadership in both trenches that couldnt think their way out of a 19th century paper bag. Millions of young men died for that, tragically, wastefully and cruelly. This is the war whose history taught me how much war really was hell. As a young man, I would get teary-eyed reading about the lame stupidity and the tragedy it created. To this day, Mr. Hand still often turns into Mr. Fist. theatlantic/static/infocus/wwi/wwitech/
