A first visit, after 10 years, to an IP community today. Who, 10 years ago, these IPs where living in a makeshift houses erected in the road allowance surrounding the 71- hectare government reservation for Agricultural Research and Production Center, with no land to till and no fruit of the land to eat, now on their persistence, struggle for self-determination using the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), 50 years of waiting, a joint perimeter survey was conducted with NCIP, DA and DENR, it was found out that there was a 4 hectare excess of the government production center controlled reservation. The IPs occupied the excess land unopposed and they planted with rice which they consider as their own, ready to harvest, free from harassment.
