A five-star performance from Raheem Sterling in Englands opening World Cup game against Italy had many onlookers raving, but the 19-year-old revealed his mum wants him to score more goals. Before the game my mum just told me to relax, not put too much pressure on myself, not beat myself up - that is what I do. Afterwards she dropped me a text and knew I wouldn’t have replied until the next day because we lost the game. She told me to get over it as quickly as possible and move onto the next one. She said to try to not just make the family proud, but make everyone in the country proud. She can be tough on me - she has also said I don’t put the ball into the back of the net enough.
